He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Anne Spivey and Charles Rodrick Parkin; and his uncle G. T. Spivey (Ted) of Cary. He is survived by: his sister Charlene Parkin Bell (Charles Kevin Bell); his nephew Jordan T. Bell; and his great-niece Emma Grayce Rudd.
