He was predeceased by: his parents, Minnie Cox and James Cox; his wife Mamie Cox; and his daughters, Susan Mitchell and Deirdra Wilson.
He is survived by: his children, Aaron Hardesty, Martin Hardesty of Raleigh, NC, Norvie Henry Sr. of Beaufort, Denise Frazier of Raleigh, NC, Janie Hardesty (Chris) of Cary, NC and Virginia Hardesty of Winston Salem, NC; his grandchildren, Marcellus Jeffrey Jr., Ashley, Jamal, Deanna, Deandre, Christopher and Nicola; his aunt Bettie Nolan; and his cousin Reggie Nolan. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
