He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Lee Anderson and Velvo Thigpen; and his sister Evonne Dixon. He is survived by: his siblings, Dessie Mable, James T. Anderson (Sarah) of Greenville, NC, Franklin Andrews (Shanya) of Greenville, NC, Melvin Bryant (Ivanola) of Riverside, CA, Donald Anderson (Jean) of Grifton, NC and Connie Short (Terry) of Simpson, NC.; his wife Dora Bell Anderson; and his children, Sonya Henry of Beaufort, NC, Cynthia Oden (William) of Morehead City, NC, Julianna Henry of Beaufort, NC, David Lee Sharpe (Jacqueline) of Lake Charles, LA and James Derrick Henry (Westeria) of Chattanooga, TN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
