He was predeceased by: his father Jerry Thomas Hardesty; his grandparents, Gordon, Callie Hardesty, Neil and Alice Windley; and his aunt Patsy Hardesty.
He is survived by: his mother Anita Windley Hardesty; his sons, Jerry Thomas Hardesty III of Beaufort and Jacob Stewart Hardesty (Leah Andrews) of Beaufort; his wife Sheila Sloan Hardesty of Beaufort; his sisters, Caroline Hardesty Bird (Stephen) of Holly Springs and Allison Hardesty Bernauer (Korey) of Beaufort; his stepmother Karen Hardesty of Beaufort; his siblings-in-law, Barbara of Greenville, Fred Riggs of Greenville, Harry of Greenville and Mel Sloan of Greenville; and his nieces and nephews, Callie, Max, Madison, Caleb and Reagan. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
