She was predeceased by: her mother Julia Ellison; and her brother Robert Oden. She is survived by: her daughter Danielle Oden of Beaufort; her grandchildren, Ioshua Oden of Beaufort, Jayla Murray of Greensboro, Charles Carter III of Elizabeth City and Kenndyl Carter of Beaufort; and her sisters, Syliva Oden of Wilmington, Pearlie Oden of Beaufort and Catherine Nolen of Beaufort.
