It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Laughton Jr. of Beaufort, North Carolina, who passed away on September 24, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Laughton and Mamie Laughton; and his sisters, Faye Paul Cherry, Anna Lou Haskins and Shelba Spivey.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Taylor Laughton of Beaufort; his sons, George R. "Robbie" Laughton III (Mary Katherine) of Virginia Beach, VA, John Craig Laughton (Anna Kay) of Edenton, NC and Paul Kent Laughton (Rebecca) of Durham, NC; his grandchildren, Jeremy Laughton (Ellison) of Raleigh, Brett Laughton (Alexis), Carole Sykes (Scotty) of Edenton, Lauren Laughton of Durham and Heather Ohaneson of Oregon; his great grandchildren, Patrick, Evan and Pete; his brothers, Milton Laughton Sr. (Mary) of Beaufort and Raymond Laughton (Sue) of Beaufort; and his brother-in-law Ted Spivey of Cary. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19, space will be limited as social distancing and masks will be required at the service.
