He is survived by: his wife Maria Pilar Sanderson of Beaufort; his children, Carlos Sanderson (Hope) of Beaufort, Ana Maria Kistler (Robert Mark) of Durham, NC and Marta Pilar Sanderson (Robert Harrison Gibbs, Jr.) of Williamsburg, VA; and his grandchildren, David Elmer, William Ferenc Kistler of Durham, Charles Avery and Sara Elizabeth Gibbs of Williamsburg.
