He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Elks and Catherine Elks. He is survived by: his former wife Tammy Godley; his children, Christina Sides and David E. Sides Jr.; his stepdaughter Tonya Jones (Joseph Jones); and his grandchildren, Emma, Anna Jones, Joseph Jones Jr. and Jeremiah Warren.
