He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Leon and Zonie Bright Darnell; and his sisters, Bettie Pilkington and Wilma Manning. He is survived by: his wife Katie Ward Darnell; his children, Linda Darnell Mitchell of Pittsboro, Donna Darnell Crowe (James) of Goldston and Ricky Darnell of Sanford; his grandchildren, Brandy, Josh, Jason, Danielle and Samuel; and his great grandchildren, Saylor, Colton, Dalton and Emmaline.
