She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hinton and Catherine Baker Hinton. She is survived by: her children, Malik Thomas and Lisa Ellis; and her siblings, Alvin Hinton of Rocky Mount, NC, Wayne Hinton of Rocky Mount, NC, Alfreda Battle of Rocky Mount, NC, Christine Williams of Battleboro, NC and Frances Thomas of Rocky Mount, NC. She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
