He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Comer Griffin, Sr. and Minnie Roberson Griffin; and his sisters, Ellen Louise Griffin Ange and Jennie Griffin Peel. He is survived by: his wife Annie McCullen Griffin; his sons, Stephen (Rhonda) of New Bern and Kevin (Larna) of New Bern; his grandchildren, Stephen McCauley Griffin, Julia Adams Griffin, James Forrest Griffin and Katherine Dee Griffin; his brother Joe Simon Griffin of Bear Grass; and the mother of his children Vivian Powell Locke.
There will be a 11:00am memorial service held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath, NC. and the family requests that everyone who attends the service please wear a mask.
