He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vernon and Mary Pearl Shuford Burleson; and his brothers, Junior, Herman and Laurence Burleson.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Hall Burleson; and his sons, Ronald Burleson (Susie) of Unionville, VA, Richard Burleson (Connie) of Moyock, NC, Randall Scott Burleson (Carla) of Purceville, VA, James Burleson (Kathy) of Syracuse and Brian Hopkins (Robbie) of Barnardsville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
