With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joanne Hodges Garland of Banner Elk, North Carolina, who passed away on October 11, 2022 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Larkin Roby Hodges and Beard Hodges of Missouri; her daughter Sharon Kay Garland; and her siblings, Lola, Lena, Alma, Mildred, Claire, Thelma, Lester, Clayton and Otis.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Garland; her sons, Jerry Garland (Brenda) of West Jefferson, NC and David Garland (Bonnie) of Asheville, NC; her sister Wanda Hodges Hindman of Banner Elk, NC; her grandchildren, Michael (Laura), Jeremy (Gabby), Jacob and Allison Garland; her stepgrandson Seth Byland (Jennifer); and her stepgreat-granddaughter Randi Byland.
