Floyd Ray Townsend Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Floyd Ray Townsend of Banner Elk, North Carolina, who passed away on August 20, 2022 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Townsend and Geneva Tester Townsend; his wife Edna Rupard Townsend; his children, Peggy Townsend and Dennis Townsend; his siblings, Ethel Norwood, Celia Norwood, Lucy Sword, Mildred Ramsey, Buster, Kenneth, Vernon and Dayton Townsend; and his son-in-law Eddie Eggers.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jane Eggers of Banner Elk and Tina Johnson (Adam) of Banner Elk; his grandchildren, Roxanne Franklin (John) of Banner Elk, Nichole Johnson of Bethel, Mark Eggers (Tammi) of Banner Elk and Logan Johnson of Bethel; and his siblings, Barbara Ann Ward of Banner Elk, Mary Townsend (Junior Piney Creek) and Jimmy Townsend (Ruby) of Wilson. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
