Smith Hughes Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 13, 2020, at the age of 90, Smith Hughes (Bakersville, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Seth Hughes and Mary Hughes; his siblings, Dorothy Barnett, Irene Maddox, Maxie Sturgill, Monie Barnett and J. D. Hughes; and his great grandchild Maggie Rae Young.
He is survived by: his wife Regina Byrd Hughes; his daughter Teresa Young (Mike); his grandson Brannon Young (Amy); his sons, Bryson Young (Erica) and Asher; and his siblings, Mildred Peterson (Paul), Billy Hughes (Nancy) and Dennis Hughes.
A graveside service will be held Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2:00PM at Bennett Cemetery (Pigeon Roost Rd) with Pastor Marvin Miller officiating, all are welcome and we ask that you bring and wear a mask due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice or to Maggie Young Memorial Scholarship Fund at UCB Bakersville, NC.
