He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Burl Tipton and Effie Bryant Tipton; his daughter Kristi Carpenter of Hickory, NC; his granddaughter Morgan Carpenter of Hickory, NC; his siblings, Mary Vinson of Bakersville, NC, Helen Street of Ocean Isle, SC and Tony Tipton of Jonesboro, TN; his stepsister Penny Street; his close friend Ellen Huskins of Altamonte Springs, Florida.; his wife Carol Hunt Tipton; his sisters, Susie McKinney and Doris Hughes; his daughter Melody Booker Wilkins; and his grandson Andrew Michael Booker.
