He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman McKinney and Dollie Bowman McKinney; his sisters, Josie McMahan and Elenore Buchanan; and his grandchild Angel Stafford.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Buchanan McKinney; his daughters, Cindy Ballew (Mike) and Kelly Barnett (Merle) of Bakersville, NC; his siblings, Roger of Bakersville, NC, Jim of Bakersville, NC, Roy Lee of Bakersville, NC, Betty Farris of Southern Pines, NC and Cathy Foulk of Spruce Pine, NC; his grandchildren, John-Michael Stafford (Eden), William Barnett (Hannah), McKenzie Stafford (Jordan Buchanan) and Colby Stafford; his great grandchild Harper Stafford; and his mother-in-law Betty Buchanan.
