He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Gouge and Georgia Hughes Gouge; his son Jerry Leonard Gouge; and his parents-in-law, Charles and Bessie Walsh.
He is survived by: his brothers, Marvin Treadway, Charles (Helen Walsh), Carroll (Virginia Walsh), Sterling Walsh Sr. and Lee Gouge; his wife Julia Walsh Gouge; his daughter Jill; his son-in-law Tony Gebhart; his grandsons, Zachary (Chelsea), Daniel and Joseph; his son James; his daughter-in-law Tracy Gouge; his grandchildren, Keersten and Kody; his great grandchildren, Karly, Kinsley, Kennedy and Karson; his son Jason; his daughter-in-law Jill Gouge; his grandchildren, Jaclynn, Jazmyn, Jacob and Jamison; his brother Jack; his sister-in-law Eloise Gouge of Weaverville, NC; his sister Charlotte Gouge of Bakersville, NC.; and his sisters-in-law, Marie Treadway of Atlanta and Gladys Walsh of Hampstead. He is also survived by his four children he and his wife cared for four additional foster children.
