She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman McKinney and Dollie Bowman McKinney. She is survived by: her children, Sharon Garden (Charles) of Morganton, NC, Caroline Honeycutt (Tim) of Bakersville, NC, Denny Buchanan (Louise) of Bakersville, NC and David Buchanan of Bakersville, NC; her siblings, Betty Farris of Southern Pines, NC, Cathy Faulk of Spruce Pine, NC, Roger of Bakersville, NC, Jim of Bakersville, NC, Roy Lee of Bakersville, NC and Michael McKinney of Bakersville, NC; her grandchildren, Chris Buchanan, Mandi Buchanan, Jason Garden, Christi Buchanan, Lukas Honeycutt, Malachi Honeycutt and Haley Honeycutt; her husband Phillip Morris Buchanan; her son Phillip Allen Buchanan; and her sister Josie McMahan. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
