She was predeceased by: her parent Troy Howell; her husband Lyda Grindstaff; her son Gary Grindstaff; and her siblings, Rex, Paul, Pauline, Woodrow, Maude, Kate, Jack, Azeline, Ray, Lee, Joe and Kathleen.

She is survived by: her parent Elsie Jarrett Howell; her son Tim Grindstaff of Bakersville; her grandsons, Craig Grindstaff of Burnsville and Jason (Brandy Grindstaff) of Marion; and her great grandchild Chesney Grindstaff of South Toe.
