It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Byrd of Bakersville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 3, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Jr. Whitson and Margaret Beam Whitson. She is survived by: her husband L. C. "Budge" Byrd; her children-in-law, Lou Gunn and Donna Byrd; her granddaughter Samantha; and her children, Patricia Gunn of Johnson City, TN, Eddie Byrd of Bakersville, NC, Mike Byrd (Vickie) of Bakersville, NC, Sue Genis (Mike) of Bakersville, NC, Nancy Whorten (Tim) of Bakersville, NC and Charlie Byrd of Bakersville, NC. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren.
