He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd McKinney and Savannah Slagle McKinney; his son Michael McKinney; and his siblings, Gladys Hoilman, Lou Ella Burleson and Frank McKinney.
He is survived by: his wife Tillie McKinney; his daughter Melissa McKinney (Dean Corn) of Bakersville; his siblings, Frances Cooper of Maryland, Rose Knight of Virginia Beach and Ronald McKinney of Bakersville; and his grandsons, Dalton Ledford and Dillon Ledford.
