He was predeceased by: his grandmother Vicki Snipes. He is survived by: his mother Sarah McLain Peterson of Spruce Pine; his brother Asa Peterson of Spruce Pine; and his grandfather Steve Snipes of Spruce Pine.
During his shortened senior season due to COVID restrictions he had 29 tackles and had a 73-yard touchdown reception.
