She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Thompson and Bertie Elizabeth Barber Thompson; and her siblings, Bill, Dickie, Donnie, Sammy and Diane.
She is survived by: her children, John Richard Carswell (Michelle) of Cherryville, Lisa Wallace (Brian) of Lincolnton and Tina Townsend (Bryon) of Newton; her siblings, Norris Thompson of Kings Mountain, Arnold Thompson of Oklahoma, Sharon Boheler of Kings Mountain and Becky Dellinger of Newton; her grandchildren, Johnny, Justin, Jonathan, Amanda, Chandra, Suzie, Hunter and Tanner; and her great grandchildren, Liam and Colton.
