We are sad to announce that on October 15, 2023, at the age of 90, Joy V Alice Gillespie of Bailey, North Carolina, born in Spindale, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Oakley and Martha Jane Pate Oakley; her husband Bailey Gillespie; her granddaughter Summer Leigh Shires; and her son-in-law Alfred Shires.
She is survived by: her daughter Christy Gillespie Shires; her great grandchildren, Hayden Bailey Pierce, Chase Alexander Pierce and D. J. Pierce; her cousins, Faye Wilson, Sharon Hill, Jean Wall and Alice Garrison; and her caregivers, Rhonda Morrow, Penny, Rob Jenkins, Steve Harper, Dr. Mike Leigh, Jerald Gindney, Kim Parker, Dr. Kersey of Nikki Vogel, FNP, Susan, Don Campbell, Samuel Jenkins, Elizabeth and James Schmidt.
