He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Joyner and Hildred Joyner; and his brother J. C. Joyner. He is survived by: his daughters, Dana Hamilton of Dunn and Paige Owens of Dunn; his sisters, Brenda Deans of Bailey, Sherry Joyner of Bailey, Elaine Perry of Bailey and Linda Modlin of Washington; and his grandchildren, Kate Cochran of Dunn and Cole Cochran of Wilmington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
