He is survived by: his parents, Larry Powell and Patricia Ann Powell; his children, Dalton Dwayne Powell and Whitney Layne Powell; his former wife Mandy Kay Powell; his stepson Jaxon Trey Roberts; his brother Jeffrey Scott Powell; and his nephew Ethan Cole Powell. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Sylvan United Methodist Church, 5731 N. Roxboro Rd., Durham, NC 27712.
