He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Lawing and Lucille Hammond Lawing. He is survived by: his wife Hilda Jarrett Lawing of Badin, NC; his son Ralph Andrew Lawing of Badin, NC; his sisters, Jane Brotemarkle and Jackie Jenkins; and his nephew Robert Burroughs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
