He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Henry Ledbetter and Susie Ingram Ledbetter; his wife Elizabeth Jane Vann of Badin; his sons, James Vann Ledbetter and John Ashley Ledbetter; his former wife Jane Vann Ledbetter; his daughter Susan Ledbetter Shouse (Shouse) of Morehead City; his sister Mary Ann King (Douglas Dorsey King) of Greensboro; and his grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Shouse of Raleigh and William Reid Shouse of Morehead City. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
