She is survived by: her son Tim Bates (Mona) of Gardnerville; her brother Wallace Spikes (Date); her sister-in-law Joan Spikes; her grandsons, John Bates (Kristen) of Ayden, Tim Bates (Allison) of Elizabeth City and Kenneth Vandiford of Snow Hill; and her great grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon, MaKayla Vandiford, Madi Strickland, Chris Bates, Avery Matthews, Shiloh and Caleb Bates.
