We are sad to announce that on December 21, 2020, at the age of 96, Roy Franklin Cox of Ayden, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Heber Franklin Cox and Lizzie Butler Cox; his wife Helen House Cox; and his sisters, Lucille Cox Cannon, Eleanor Cox Tucker, Lillian Cox Singleton and Elizabeth Cox Tyson.
He is survived by: his son Jerry Wayne Cox (Kim A. Bell) of Ayden; his grandson Jason Wayne Cox (Jessica Whitaker Cox) of Greenville; his stepgrandchildren, Phillip S. Bell, Nikki Bell (Justin Bolduc) and Lauren Bell-Futrell (Josh Futrell); his great grandchild Kenzie Cox; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Avery, Haven Bolduc, Halley Bell, Kileigh Futrell, Landon Smith, Eli Bell and Caleb Bell; and his close friend Gerry Butler Sisk.
Due to COVID-19 and for the safety of others, the family requests that all in attendance wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
In lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Mr. Cox may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, 2426 S. Charles Blvd, Greenville, NC 27858.
