She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Burgess, Jr. and Lucy Bowser Burgess; her son John Fitzgerald "Sugar Bear" Burgess; her siblings, James Frank Burgess, Melvin Lee Burgess, Larry Burgess and Barbara Ann Burgess Ivey; and her niece Shakirah Vasquel Lovelace.

She is survived by: her siblings, Eugene Burgess (Quentina), Thomas Burgess (Phyllis) and Susie Burgess Harvey; and her sisters-in-law, Shirley Burgess and Leonnie Burgess. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Because of Covid-19, the wearing of masks and social distancing will be practiced.
