It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nanelle Congleton of Ayden, North Carolina, born in Fremont, North Carolina, who passed away on April 5, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John R. Edmundson and Dixie Barnes Edmundson; her husband Bobby Congleton (Bobby); and her brother Donald Edmundson. She is survived by: her sons, Rob Congleton (Donna) of Ayden, Chris Congleton (Rhonda) of Ayden and John Congleton (Jennifer) of Youngsville; her grandchildren, Caroline Congleton, Andrew Congleton, Ethan Congleton, Morgan Congleton and Brandy Holliday; her great grandchildren, Nadia, Effy and Braelyn Whitley; her sister-in-law Phyllis Y. Edmundson; her brother Rudy Edmundson (Karen) of Fremont; and her nieces, Tracey Edmundson Ivey, Melissa Edmundson Makala, Linda H. Edmundson and Lisa E. Edmundson. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and extended family.

The family request those attending wear a face covering and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to a charity of one's choice.

“It is with great sadness to hear about Mrs Congleton. I was just talking about her yesterday and how she helped me in school so many years ago. She showed me how to multiply by using my fingers. It greatly opened up my math skills. Thank you. She told me she taught her kids that skill. She was also a great principle at Grifton School in which any student could tell she love her job and the children around her. This was in the early to mid 80s. Prayers for the Congleton family. Steven McKinney”
