He was predeceased by: his parents, Lathan Stocks and Ethel Lee Stocks; and his sisters, Pattie Foreman, Shirley Suggs and Linda Annette Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Stocks; his children, Deena Kersting (James) and Melvin Stocks (Chaka Kittles); his grandchildren, Jonathan Kersting (Meredith), Ashley Smith (Barrie), Jessica Wang (Max) and Sierra Stocks; his great grandchildren, Harper and Allie Kersting; and also Nola Stocks. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
