With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Irene Rosser Burgess (Ayden, North Carolina), born in Littleton, North Carolina, who passed away on June 11, 2022 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her parents, Baldie Rosser and Eula Alston Rosser; her daughter-in-law Pat Burgess; and her siblings, Clinton, Baldie, Eartis, Herman Rosser, Bernice R. Harris, Pearlie Mae R. Clanton and Flonnie Ray R. Johnson.
She is survived by: her sons, Rickey Graves (Valinda) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and King Burgess, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; her grandchildren, L. K. Burgess III, Taniqua Burgess of Virginia and Shenelle Graves of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her great grandchildren, Xavier and DeMarcus; her siblings, Octavia Rosser of New York, Rev. McArthur Rosser of Weldon, NC, Robert Rosser (Diane) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Frank Rosser (Ida) of Littleton, NC; her nephew Aaron Powell (Daisy) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and her niece Arnitre Rosser of Greensboro, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other loyal relatives and friends.
Because of Covid-19, all CDC guidelines will be followed by the wearing of masks, social distancing, and limiting the number of persons in attendance.
