He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Smith and Rebe Smith; his daughter Leslie Carol Smith; and his siblings, Wesley, James, Samuel Smith and Mavis Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Earline Bowen Smith; his children, Lemmie Smith (Sue) of Hookerton, Gale Sullivan (Thierry) of Chocowinity and Joe Smith (Alisa) of Scuffleton; and his sister Mary Gaskins of Grifton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
