She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James Avery and Sallie Avery; her husband Douglas Lawrence Shirley; her children, Tammy Shirley Lewis, David Shirley (Ellen) and Donna Wiggins of Winterville; and her sister Lillie Harrison of Snow Hill. She was also cherished by five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
