With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deacon Eugene Allen Carter (Ayden, North Carolina), born in Littleton, North Carolina, who passed away on January 5, 2023 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by: his parent Fannie Powell; and his brothers, Abray Carter, Clemon Powell (Junior), Archie Coppage, Wilson Coppage, Raymond Coppage and Paul Coppage.
He is survived by: his niece Dawn; his grandson SJ; his sisters, Vernetta Powell, Jean Harrington and Dottie Coppage; his wife Mary "Alice" Carter of Buford, Georgia; his son Steven Eugene Carter, Sr. (Brenda) of East Rutherford; his grandchildren, Mason, Steven Eugene Carter, Jr. (SJ), Sinai and Miyake; and his siblings, Billy Powell (Marie) of Brooklyn, Vernon Powell (Evelyn) of Roanoke Rapid, Mary Talley (Melvin) of St. Albans Queens, Ann Coppage of Brooklyn, Annette Powell of Brooklyn, Hester Glover of Cross, Gloria Coppage of Brooklyn, Francis Glover of St. Stephens, Annie Bell Alston of Littleton, Jesse Alston of Littleton and Charlie Harrington of Henderson. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, family, church members and friends.
Because of Covid-19, the wearing of masks, social distancing, and limiting the number of persons in attendance will be practiced.
