She was predeceased by: her parent Dorothy Mae Peterson Brooks; her husband Robert Tyson; her parent Dorothy Peterson Cobbs Brooks; her siblings, Raymond Peterson, Nasby Brooks, Jesse Cobbs, Curtis Brooks, Dorothy Peterson and Hattie Mae Gaskins; and her grandson John Henry Murphy.
She is survived by: her children, Diane T. Harris of Ayden, NC, Eula LaGrande (Andrew) of Vanceboro, NC, Augustus Tyson (Julia) of Ayden, NC and Frederick Tyson of Shelton, CT; her siblings, Linwood Brooks (Mary) of Decatur, GA and Pamella Brooks of Brooklyn, NY; her aunt Mary Rogers of Grifton, NC; and her sisters-in-law, Rosetta Brooks of Brooklyn, NY and Mary Brooks of Decatur, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
