She was predeceased by : her parents, Opal Johnson (Tetterton) and Decator Johnson; her brother James; and her former life partner Joseph Sykes. She is survived by : her husband Thomas Ellis of Aurora, NC; her brother Walter Johnson (Lynne); her cousins, Hix Browne of Aurora, NC and Shirley Eubanks (Jerry) of New Bern, NC; her stepdaughter Pamela of Smithfield, NC; and her granddaughter Lori Rayman (Dustin). She is also survived by friends and neighbors.
