She was predeceased by: her parents, Clayton Sylvester and Addie Perry Hughes; her husband McCoy "Coy" Barmer; and her siblings, Donnis Hughes, Fred Hughes, Millie Alston and Velma Francis.
She is survived by: her children, Lori Barmer (Elmer Gibson) of Apex, NC and Greg Barmer (Lisa) of Washington, NC; her grandchildren, Lea Clayton of Apex, NC, Sarah Kniola (Hunter) of Indianapolis, IN and Andrew Barmer of Mooresville, NC; her great grandchild Lydia Kniola of Indianapolis, IN; and her sister Sue Hughes of Florida.
