He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lupton and Geneva Lupton; his spouse Loma Mason Lupton; and his siblings, Carolyn Lupton Skipper, Bernice Lupton Goodwin, John Clifford Lupton and Blanchard Lee Lupton.
He is survived by: his children, Teresa Gaskill (Julian) of Sea Level, Richard M. Lupton Jr. of Atlantic, Jeffery Wayne Lupton (Madolyn) of Atlantic and Joseph Dean Lupton of Atlantic; his sister Brenda Lupton Joyner (Alton) of Beaufort; his grandchildren, April Dawn Russell of Greenville, NC, Allison Rebecca Gaskill Miller of Greenville, NC and Thomas Jeremy Lupton of Yorktown, VA; and his great grandchildren, Michael Christian Russell of Lexington, VA, Lauren Faith Russell of Greenville, NC, Glenn Owen Miller of Greenville, NC, Cullen Lupton of Yorktown, VA. and Jace Lupton of Yorktown, VA..
