He is survived by: his parents, Joseph Peter and Lucille Stevens Lauffer; his daughter Brahan Lauffer Agnew (John Samuel Agnew) of Raleigh; his grandson John Samuel Agnew, Jr. of Raleigh; his sister Beji Fitts (Gary Fitts) of Tuscaloosa; and his nephews, Travis Fitts, David Fitts and Forrest Fitts.
