With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Alice Dickerson Hodges of Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, born in Wilson, North Carolina, who passed away on May 6, 2021 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her parents, Moses Taylor and Lena Jackson Taylor; her husbands, Samuel E. Dickerson and Roland E. Hodges; and her siblings, Nellie Colbert, Dolly Bottoms, Sylvia Lamb, Dorothy Stallings, Jimmy Taylor of Rocky Mount and Elbert Taylor of Rocky Mount.

She is survived by: her daughter Becky Dickerson Gaskins (Allen); her granddaughter Emily Williams of Beaufort; her great grandchildren, Samantha Canissario and Maria Williams; her brothers, Ray Taylor (Jean) and Billy Taylor (Jessie Dean); her siblings-in-law, Faye Taylor and Jim Stallings of Rocky Mount; her niece Candy Taylor Cashwell (Donald); her great-nieces and great-nephews, DeWyatt and Nathan Cashwell; her nephew Ronald Taylor; and her close friend Alice Hollifield. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
