It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Floyd Vernon Thompson Jr. of Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, born in Burlington, North Carolina, who passed away on July 15, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Thompson and Estelle Thompson; his spouse Sarita Bedsworth Thompson; and his brother Bill Thompson. He is survived by: his children, Christi Piner (Eddie) of New Braunfels, TX and Vernon Craig Thompson (Francy) of Southern Pines; and his grandchildren, Jordan Hart (Josh), Payton Thompson, Noah Thompson, Logan Piner and Jacob Piner.
In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vernon's memory to First Baptist Church at 810 Bridges St., Morehead City, NC 28557.
