It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Barnhill of Atkinson, North Carolina, born in Selma, North Carolina, who passed away on January 13, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Walsh and Joseph Thomas Mathews; her husband James Kenneth Barnhill Sr.; and her siblings, Betty Mathews Prince and James Leslie Mathews.
She is survived by: her grandson Corey Tokoly Barnhill (Rebekah); her great grandchildren, JohnAnna, Haddon and Virginia; her granddaughter Carrie Daniel Roberts (Jeremy); her great grandchildren, Baker, Louise and Anna George; her grandchild Kendi Barnhill Haywood (Clay); her great grandchildren, Joe and Wells; her grandchildren, Kenneth Harrell Collins, Jackson Reid Tyler and Bailey Elizabeth Collins; her great grandchild Greenley; her grandchildren, Butler Mitchell Collins, Douglas "Vance" Barnhill, Lanie Nicole Barnhill and Joseph "Hugh" Collins; her sister Judy Johnson (Phil); and her siblings-in-law, Jeanie Mathews and David Prince. She is also survived by other family members and friends.
