In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Mildred had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Mildred may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jess Stone and Lillian Bryant Stone; her brother James Stone; and her husband Louis Wakefield. She is survived by: her children, Gary Wakefield (Sherry) of Henderson, Texas, Bobby Wakefield (Suzanne) of Arden, NC and Sheila Morgan (Derrick) of Virginia Beach, VA.; and her siblings, Jack Stone of Ardmore, OK and Evelyn Nutt of Tyler, Texas.. She is also survived by six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home (601 US-80, Haughton, LA 71037). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at the same location.
