Jerald Kirkland Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerald Kirkland of Asheville, North Carolina, who passed away on December 23, 2024 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Jerald may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jerald touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Luvenia Kershaw Kirkland and Thomas Washington Kirkland; his grandmother Clorena Fant Kershaw; his sister Carolyn Kershaw Baggs; his aunt Arimenta Kershaw; and his cousin Patricia Kershaw Anthony.
He is survived by: his son Damon E. Kirland (Tamara) of Fort Washington, MD; his siblings, Tommie of Asheville, Anthony (Celeste) of Smyrna, TN, Kathy (Johnnie) of Asheville and Lynsey of Charlotte, NC; and his grandson Nasir. He is also survived by nephews, nieces and special friends.
A burial was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (962 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711).
