He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank "Otis" Brinkley and Nellie Capps Brinkley. He is survived by: his sister Geraldine Brinkley Pike; his children, Donna Pollard (Ron) and Sam Brinkley; his grandchildren, Sarah Gordon (Drake) and Jake Mills; his great grandchild Reinhold Gordon; and his wife Glenda Pierce Brinkley. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Groce Funeral Home - Patton Ave. (1401 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28806). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hominy Baptist Church (135 Candler School Rd, Candler, NC 28715). A burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (1498 Sand Hill Rd, Candler, NC 28715).
