She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Barnell Merck and Margaret Elizabeth Plunckett Merck; her husband Charles Porter; her brother Clarence Merck Jr.; and her daughter Margaret Kosa.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Porter of Asheville, Deborah Buckner of Asheville, Robin "Dianne" Morales (Antonio Morales Jr) of Leicester, NC and Donna Porter of Asheville. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
